OCTOBER BLACK HISTORY AND BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME

Nigerian Women’s Group – Black History Month & Breast Cancer Awareness Event

The Nigerian Women’s Group hosted a vibrant and impactful Black History Month / Breast Cancer Awareness Event on 18th October 2025. The atmosphere was lively, inspiring, and deeply engaging, bringing together women, families, and community members for a day of learning, culture, and empowerment.

The programme featured insightful talks, presentations, and cultural dances, celebrating both heritage and health awareness. We were privileged to have individuals with lived experiences, including Stephanie, who courageously shared her personal journey. In addition, medical doctors and resource persons delivered sessions on key health topics such as dementia, breast cancer, and other relevant issues affecting women.

The event took place at St Mary’s of Angels Church Hall, Elbow Street, Levenshulme, M19 3PY.

To enrich the experience, guests enjoyed authentic Nigerian cuisine, energetic cultural performances, and a warm sense of community throughout the day.
